Preliminary evidence, including personal items found at the top of the ravine, suggests the man may have died following a fall, the same sources said.

The Royal Gendarmerie has launched an investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The body has been sent for autopsy to collect genetic samples and confirm the victim’s identity.

A decomposed body was discovered in a ravine in a forested area near the beach in Tamri commune (Agadir Ida-Outanane prefecture) on Monday, raising suspicions it could belong to a Belgian tourist missing since late November, pending DNA analysis, according to the local authorities in Souss-Massa region.
