Speaking at the monthly House of Representatives’ plenary session devoted to general policy, Akhannouch stressed that the government made a responsible and effective commitment to generalizing social protection, to developing structural reforms in health and education sectors, and to reducing disparities.

This success reflects the efforts made to set up social infrastructure capable of supporting this historic transition, he noted, pointing out that the results achieved in terms of universal health coverage and direct social assistance have largely benefited from the in-depth review of social targeting mechanisms for families and the introduction of the National Population Register and the Unified Social Register as a digital platform for effective targeting of support mechanisms.

The aim is also to compensate the structural deficit in social areas, notably in health, education, training, housing and urban and human development in general, he added.

He pointed out that, thanks to the clear-sighted Royal Vision and the efforts to reduce spatial disparities, the number of hospitals has risen from 112 in 1999 to 177 in 2024 (+58%), while the number of primary healthcare facilities has risen from 2,138 to 3,066 over the same period, an increase of 143%.

The Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch said, on Monday in Rabat, that the government is working, in line with the Royal ambition aimed at consolidating the foundations of the social State, to implement an integrated social policy capable of protecting Morocco against future shocks and challenges.
