Speaking to MAP, these football veterans highlighted the significance of this global recognition because it reflects the exceptional development of Moroccan football and the Kingdom’s proven expertise in hosting prestigious international events.

Former Moroccan international Aziz Bouderbala underscored that the High Royal Directives were instrumental in securing Morocco’s role as a co-host for the 2030 tournament by noting that hosting this event will provide a powerful boost to Morocco’s socio-economic development under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

Mustapha Haddaoui, another legendary player, expressed pride in this milestone while emphasizing that the long-held dream of Moroccans has been achieved after years of relentless effort. He pointed to the shared history and cultural heritage of the three host nations to predict that the 2030 World Cup will be one of the most remarkable editions in history.

Haddaoui also highlighted the global confidence in Morocco’s capabilities when he noted that its selection as a host country solidifies its status as a leading force on the international sports stage. This recognition, he added, is further reinforced by Morocco’s recent football triumphs such as the historic performance at the Qatar World Cup and the bronze medal win at the Paris Olympics.

These achievements, according to Haddaoui, have cemented Morocco’s reputation as a global football powerhouse because they demonstrate its readiness to host one of the world’s most significant sporting events
