During the discussions, Amedjar stressed the need to boost joint Arab media cooperation, by stepping up joint efforts and promoting coordination, consultation and the exchange of expertise in order to transcend the enormous challenges posed and promote media capable of consolidating Arab identity and meeting the aspirations of the region’s peoples.

He stressed the importance of intensifying and unifying efforts to improve and develop Arab media, and of continuing to upgrade them to keep pace with developments in their environment, advocating media as an effective player in the defense of common Arab issues, the promotion of societies and the development of countries in the region.

The meetings of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media and the Executive Office of Arab Ministers of Information covered several key topics, including the evolution of the action plan for media abroad, the Arab Electronic Media Committee and the role of Arab media in fighting terrorism.
