Some 300 passengers aboard the Dreamliner were warmly welcomed at Guarulhos international airport. The aircraft was given the traditional Water Salute, at a ceremony attended by Brazilian tourism officials and stakeholders.

The reopening of this strategic link, connecting the two economic capitals, meets a growing demand from businessmen and tourists on both sides of the Atlantic, and reflects Morocco and Brazil’s long-standing partnership.

Operated on the basis of three weekly flights, the route offers departures from Casablanca on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 4:40 p.m., arriving in Sao Paulo at 10:20 p.m. (local time). Return flights leave the Brazilian city every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 0:25 a.m., reaching Casablanca at 1:15 p.m.

The routes are operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliners, new-generation aircraft renowned for their high comfort and safety as well as low carbon footprint.

The code-share agreement signed with GOL Linhas Aéreas, Brazil’s leading airline, will extend connectivity to other cities in Brazil and Morocco, RAM’s Regional Director Othman Baba told MAP.

He also noted that passengers will have access from the Casablanca hub to a network of 97 destinations worldwide, including Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and soon Asia, with the upcoming opening of a route to Beijing.

The relaunch of this service is part of the flagship carrier’s strategy to back the Kingdom’s major projects, notably the Football World Cup 2030, organized jointly by Morocco, Spain and Portugal.

Royal Air Maroc's (RAM) first direct flight from Casablanca landed in Sao Paulo on Saturday evening, marking the long-awaited resumption of direct services between Morocco and Brazil, suspended for five years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
