Speaking at the opening of the “Seafood 4 Africa 2024” African forum of the fisheries and aquaculture industry, Drammeh stressed that Morocco has adopted an ambitious strategy for the sustainable development of the fisheries sector, highlighting the Kingdom’s achievements in this field.

The Gambian minister also pointed out that the “Seafood 4 Africa 2024” forum is a platform for exchanging expertise and experience for investors and entrepreneurs in the fields of fishing and aquaculture.

The meeting is also an opportunity for participants to discuss investment in the fishing industry and to forge partnerships between African countries, he added.

This event is taking place from December 4 to 6, 2024, in the iconic city of Dakhla, in the south of the Kingdom of Morocco, known for its maritime wealth and ongoing efforts to achieve sustainable development of marine resources. It is organized by the National Federation of Seafood Processing and Valorization Industries (FENIP), in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fishing, Rural Development and Water and Forests, the Secretariat of State for Maritime Fishing, as well as the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Secretariat of State for Foreign Trade.

Gambia's Minister of Fisheries and Water Resources Musa Drammeh expressed, on Wednesday in Dakhla, his country's eagerness to leverage Morocco's experience in fisheries within South-South cooperation.
