Morocco's FM Receives Djiboutian Peer, Bearer of Written Message to HM the King from Djibouti's President

In a statement to the press following the meeting, Youssouf said that the Republic of Djibouti and the Kingdom of Morocco are bound by solid ties based on mutual respect and pan-Arab and Islamic brotherhood, adding that the two countries enjoy wise leadership under the guidance of their leaders, who enshrine efforts to establish the foundations of good governance and development, for the well-being and prosperity of their peoples.

The Kingdom has spared no effort in supporting Djibouti in its development process, particularly in higher education, by opening the doors of its universities to Djiboutian students, he stressed, reviewing the various areas of cooperation between the two brotherly countries, notably banking, construction, investment, tourism and the hotel industry.

In this respect, Djibouti’s top diplomat said that his country considers Morocco as a development model and strives to benefit from its experience.

He also mentioned his bid for the position of Chairperson of the African Union Commission, succeeding Moussa Mohamed Faki, whose mandate ends next February, adding that he would like to benefit from Morocco’s support in his bid.

He also underlined the many complex challenges facing the continent, expressing his awareness of the scale of the responsibility and aspirations of African peoples and countries.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita received, on Tuesday in Rabat, Djibouti’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, bearer of a written message from the President of the Republic of Djibouti, Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, to His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
