“We examined several subjects and convened on a roadmap and a working method to relaunch cooperation between the Moroccan and European parliaments and overcome the dysfunctions that have marred these relations,” Talbi Alami told MAP, following his talks with Metsola.

Talbi Alami, who was visiting the European hemicycle at the invitation of the President of the European Parliament, highlighted the “determination expressed by Metsola to re-establish and relaunch ties” following the recent European elections and the restructuring of the European Parliament.

He stressed the need to respect “Moroccan conditions” to ensure better ties between the two legislative institutions, “within a framework of mutual respect.”

He added that Metsola had underlined “Morocco’s place in the European neighborhood, thanks to its political, economic and social stability, its many achievements in several fields and its foreign policy, under the Leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.”

Morocco’s Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, and the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, convened, on Tuesday in Brussels, on a roadmap to relaunch parliamentary ties between the Moroccan and European parliaments.
