On this occasion, the two ministers highlighted the shared commitment of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and H.E. Daniel Noboa, President of the Republic of Ecuador, to elevate the relationship between the two countries into a model of dynamic and supportive South-South cooperation, serving the ambitions and interests of both friendly peoples.

In this spirit, the meeting provided an opportunity for a constructive exchange on the future of the bilateral relations that have connected the two countries since 1988, and on ways to deepen and give new momentum to this partnership.

Bourita and Sommerfeld expressed their satisfaction with the shared determination to strengthen the bilateral legal framework and emphasized the positive prospects it will offer in various areas of common interest, particularly in terms of cooperation and support for human development projects.

At the end, the two ministers signed several agreements, including a Framework Memorandum of Understanding for enhanced cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Ecuador, an Agreement on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and service passports, and a Joint Communiqué.

Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Expatriates Nasser Bourita held a virtual meeting on Monday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of the Republic of Ecuador, Gabriela Sommerfeld.
